Begonia Ginny Galaxy Variegated

Begonia Ginny Galaxy Variegated is a rare shrub-type Begonia prized for its narrow, lance-shaped foliage covered in silver, cream, and vivid pink variegation. The speckled pattern across the leaves creates a galaxy-like appearance, while different stages of growth can display multiple colours on the same plant.

New foliage typically emerges lime green and gradually develops creamy yellow, silver, and pink tones as it matures. Compared with many variegated Begonias, Ginny Galaxy is known for relatively consistent variegation, although every leaf develops its own pattern.

This listing is for a rooted, established and acclimated plant. Each plant is individually photographed — the exact specimen shown in the product photos is the plant you will receive.

What you see is what you receive.

WHY COLLECTORS LOVE IT

Ginny Galaxy stands out for both its colour and growth habit. Young leaves can begin bright lime green before transitioning through cream and soft yellow into stronger pink tones. Because leaves mature at different times, an established plant can display green, cream, silver, yellow and pink foliage simultaneously.

Its upright, branching growth makes it an attractive indoor specimen and easier to display than many trailing or rhizomatous Begonias.

The plant can also produce clusters of delicate pale pink to white flowers during active growth, adding another layer of interest beyond the variegated foliage.

VARIEGATION & GROWTH

Variegation is relatively stable but naturally variable. No two leaves will have exactly the same colour distribution, and the amount of pink can change between new leaves.

Occasionally, a predominantly green stem may develop. Pruning a reverted stem back to the variegated growth point can help maintain the plant's characteristic appearance.

Light, maturity, temperature, nutrition and overall growing conditions may influence future colour. Existing variegation does not guarantee that every new leaf will develop the same amount of pink.

CARE

Light: Bright, indirect light. Strong filtered light can support vibrant growth and colour. Avoid harsh afternoon sun, which may damage lighter variegated areas.

Water: Water thoroughly when the top 2–3 cm of the substrate begins to dry. Avoid keeping the roots constantly saturated and water the growing medium rather than the foliage when possible.

Humidity: Prefers approximately 65–85% humidity with good airflow. A humidifier or grow cabinet can be especially helpful during dry Canadian winters.

Temperature: Best grown around 18–26°C. Protect from cold drafts and sudden temperature changes.

Substrate: Use a light, airy and well-draining mix containing materials such as coco coir or peat, perlite and orchid bark.

Fertilizer: Feed lightly every 2–4 weeks during active spring and summer growth. Reduce feeding when growth slows.
